The Dell Laser Printer 1100 is extremely affordable, performs well and produces high quality print outs.  At 8.5 by 14.1 by 11.7 inches,  it's small enough to fit on a desk, taking up less space than most ink jets do. The Dell 1100 is simple to set up when compared to other ink jets. 

To install one toner cartridge, all you need to do is plug in the USB cable, pick "Typical Installation" on the first screen in the setup program section.
