How long do HP laser toner cartridges last?
It depends on the cartridge, and how much you print. Page yield for toner cartridges is covered by an international standard (ISO-19752) which ensures that everyone assumes the same 5% coverage when quoting the number of pages you can expect.

Can you use generic toner in HP laser printer?
Yes, you can use generic toner in your HP laser printer. The compatible cartridges on this page are guaranteed to work as direct replacements for the original HP versions.
Can you refill HP laser toner cartridges?
It’s possible but we don’t recommend it. You can refill HP toner cartridges but, in most cases, you would also need to reset or replace the chip on the cartridge so that the printer doesn’t identify it as empty. Refilling toner cartridges used to be a viable option in the days before reliable compatible cartridges, and chips that could tell the printer whether the cartridge had been used before. Today, it is just as economical, considerably easier and a lot less messy to buy compatible cartridges instead.
